• Chanel №5: The story of the legendary perfume
Aroma Chanel №5 was invented nearly a century ago, but still has not lost its popularity. According to statistics, in the world every minute bought a bottle of spirits. Today, ordinary people associate the name of the legendary perfume named designer Coco Chanel, but not everyone remembers that flavor invention belongs to the French perfumer, who was born in Moscow, - Ernest Bo.
Ernest Beaux not accidentally connected his life with perfumes: his father was a famous perfumer, and an older brother, too, was fascinated by the creation of fragrances. "A brother worked in Russia's largest company Rally & Co ", which was the official supplier of the Imperial Palace. Ernest was gifted with a beautiful scent of nature, but in order to understand perfectly all the subtleties of working with the smells, went to France. There he trained for several years in the company Chiris, which was located in the town of Grasse.
Ernest Bo has lived in Russia before the First World War, until he was called up to the front. Return to his factory after the war, he could not - the production was nationalized. Ernest returned to France, continued the work of his life - the creation of fragrances. At this time he became acquainted with the fashion designer Coco Chanel. At her request, it is taken for the production of flavor that has become her trademark.

A long way to find a success: Ernest suggested Coco a choice of five flavors. It is not difficult to guess that the heart of Coco Chanel won the fifth. And there was the name of the perfume Chanel №5, who won world fame. For the presentation of the new fragrance Chanel also chose an unusual way: she invited Ernest to produce 100 bottles of a new perfume and sent them to the most eminent representatives of high society on the eve of Christmas. The result exceeded all expectations: about Chanel №5 told everything, and when it is time to solemn flavor presentation, sensation was provided!

Chanel №5 formula for success was the fact that Bo mixed more than 80 ingredients, getting a truly unique flavor. Coco Chanel knew how important it is to correctly position the spirits, so in the design of the bottle she refused from the usual frills: instead of a crystal bubble, she opted for a strictly rectangular bottle, which seemed more suitable for men's cologne than women's perfume (according to one version, shape for the bottle of vodka borrowed from damask). However, the choice was correct: corporate identity design Chanel №5 has not changed for nearly a century.
