Vatican City - the smallest officially recognized by the state in the world that is inside of Rome. Today we walk through the Vatican area and look at its main church - St. Peter's Basilica.
The Vatican - is a separate state in the precincts of Rome, headed by the Pope. It is managed by the administrative department of the Pontifical Commission, which is appointed by the Holy See for 5 years. Sovereign of the Holy See in whose hands all power is lumped Pope. The pope is elected for life by the Cardinals. After the death or abdication of the Pope, his duties shall camerlengo with certain restrictions, to the election of a new Pope.
