About the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant the whole world knows today, but there was another accident that resulted in a nuclear explosion in the history of the Soviet Union. Information about the incident was not disclosed for over thirty years in the infected area, people continued to live in the Chelyabinsk region. Destiny families back to live in the exclusion zone - a tragedy for which official reports prefer to remain silent ...
Kyshtym accident occurred September 29, 1957: at the "Mayak", specialized in the manufacture of nuclear weapons, there was an explosion. The reason was the failure of the cooling system of containers with radioactive wastes. Once the temperature has reached a critical point in the sky a cloud of radioactive dust.
The measures to eliminate the consequences of the accident were not taken immediately. It is significant that the production cycle at the plant is not stopped, the elimination attracted soldiers, proper precautions are not complied with. Worse was the case with informing local people: they do not even explain what happened, and young people in a few days even brought in the seasonal work.
A week later, it was decided to evacuate people from the contaminated area. Then taken about 10-12 thousands of people, but the potential danger of radioactive contamination poses to hundreds of thousands of people. The village from which people were taken completely destroyed to prevent the spread of radiation. However, the region has remained a village, the inhabitants of which, for unknown reasons, not taken away from the contaminated area. This village is called Tatar Karabolka. At one time it was a large settlement for four thousand people, today there remains little more than four hundred, and that one in three is seriously ill.
Main Karabolka diagnosis - cancer. Oncology detected in adults and young people, and even children. In total there are eight cemeteries, people die catastrophically quickly, but that's no help from the state do not get now, as well as not received and during those three long decades, yet silent about the tragedy.
Hushing up the tragedy was due to several reasons: the accident occurred in the closed city of Chelyabinsk-40, so the information could not advertise. In addition, the plant "Mayak" worked for the nuclear industry, which were to be kept secret, too. Evacuated people signed the paper, according to which promised to remain silent about what happened for 25 years.
Residents of the Tatar Karabolka still trying to gain recognition of their special status, but so far it is to no avail. Over the years, they heat their homes with wood, and only years later learned that burning the trees were not in any case be due to the fact that they accumulate dirt. Another problem - water. Examination found that the local water is not suitable for use, but to ensure a regular supply of water and could not, so people do not anything left to do, how to use water from wells.
The most tragic in this story - the fact that the documents Karabolka Tatar residents were evacuated after the accident. The paper was signed, and the people were left to live, every day struggling with death, suffering from the most severe pain ... Only twenty years ago Tatar Karabolka again applied to the card with which her image disappeared in the late 1950s.
