• Orphanage for kids sloths left without mothers
Institute founder of sloths in Costa Rica Sam Thrall 2013 helps cubs sloths back into their natural habitats.
The Institute has three main objectives:
- the study of wild and captive-bred sloth;
- cooperation with other institutes of the world, involved in these animals;
- dissemination of information about sloths.
"What I like sloths most - so this indifference to what to do with them - recognized Tral. I realized that the "cycle of life" includes all kinds of animals, including mischievous monkeys and carnivorous cats. I have respect for the animals who are forced to eat other creatures to survive. But it is impossible not to succumb to the charm of the animals who only want that to chew its leaves, enjoy the sun and the wind, and from time to time how to scratch. " Human activity threatens the existence of sloth. That's why Sam Thrall decided to set up in Costa Rica Institute of sloths
This is the first cub, which saved Tral. It was then that she decided to found his Institute.
the Institute has developed a special "soft" return technique sloths in their natural habitat.
This technique allows grown-acclimatise to the jungle sloths, before you start fully independent life.
