• New York 80s, reminiscent of life in the USSR
California photographer Janet Delaney made a series of stunning images that convey the special spirit of New York. All photos were taken in the 80s on the twin-lens reflex camera. A feature of such chambers is practically noiseless and very rapid compared to the single-lens camera viewfinder release of the shutter and which is located above. When shooting the photographer can hold the camera at chest level, attracting less attention, which means that the characters of images was virtually no chance to notice that they were in the frame.
When you first look at these pictures did not even know that New York images. Some frames are impregnated with some truly Soviet spirit. Although we understand that the life of the Russian people 80s radically different from American life, a few pictures if born in the USSR.
"In the 80s, many times I have been in New York. Born on quiet streets in the suburbs of Los Angeles, I always expect some unexpected and totally haphazard encounters that could give only Manhattan ", - says the photographer in the description of the series.
