One hundred years ago, in 1915, on the island of Dixon in the Kara Sea it was founded by the eponymous village - today it is the most northerly town in Russia. Today Dixon is located partially on the island, and in part - on the coast of the Yenisei Gulf coast Peter Chichagova Taimyr Peninsula. Part of the shares polutorakilometrovy Strait. Average annual temperature is -11 and 4 ° C. Today, no more than 700 people live in the village, there is a polar station, but the fish factory no longer exists. The only hospital is scheduled to close, many houses and abandoned farm building - demolish the two-story house costs about three million rubles.

One of the main streets. In the village a lot of dogs, all the good and calm. Local say that for dogs is determined that the settlement went polar bear - the animals are hiding immediately.
