Journey through the snow castle in Kemi
• Travel on the Snow Castle in Kemi
One of the few of our stops along the way to the North Cape was a small town of Kemi, Lapland located at the northernmost point of the Baltic Sea coast. The city itself, to put it mildly, is not rich in sights, but every winter here build a unique snow lock that serves a great magnet for tourists.
In fact, if it were not Lumilinna in Kemi doing absolutely nothing. In order not to be unfounded, I'll show a few photographs - most of the city looks like.
In practice, the only city attractions - Kemi Church, built in 1902 in the style of novoklassicheskom. The city still seems like the pair is based museum ship - the icebreaker Sampo and Sails Yahti, modeled on the XIX century, but neither the first nor the second did not get to see.
The same church, side view. Beautiful, Reigning. The only pity was closed.
The winter in Lapland - a stunning beauty. A lot of snow, and not that dirty porridge, which he usually turns into more southern latitudes, and this, white and very clean. Another distinguishing feature of Finlyadii - if somewhere path provided it is sure to be carefully cleaned. During the time that we were there, I did not encounter any path or road, which would have been noticed. Even if the road - a country road in the taiga forest.
Architecture - a kind of, a lot of wooden houses.
Pier. Strictly speaking, the cultural center of the city - right here are Gallery of Gems and Snow Castle.
Along the waterfront - new buildings. From entertainment - snowmobile rentals. You can rent a machine and drive around the bay.
Local cold obviously not afraid. On the street, in my opinion, 15 degrees below zero, but in general, it is warm and sunny.
Gulf of Bothnia. Winter - playground for snowmobiling.
A pointer to the waterfront. Left - Snow Castle, on the right - the gallery of precious stones. All interesting - next.
Entrance to the castle. Generally, the castle is interesting first of all by the fact that each year it's different. We, judging around, hit the magic cave and ... "Angry Birds". Tourists quite a lot, and even across the Finns. But only heard Russian speech.
The area of the castle blends into the infrastructure of the waterfront.
In general, the bright walls of houses and other parts of urban design in the north is especially pleasing to the eye. Without it, the picture would be pretty boring.
Inside the castle seems endless structure with lots of interesting buildings. For example, there is an ice bar and several rooms for drinking intoxicating beverages purchased there. For example, one of them.
Another room - from my own experience I can say that a hot mulled wine in such a situation - extremely beautiful.
a lamp close-up. Uporotyh eyes completely, but still very cute.
Virtually every wall inside the complex - a work of art. It can be seen that with a lot of talent and love cut.
In addition to the cut out of the snow elements inside - a lot of ice sculptures. Everything glows and shimmers - an unforgettable sight.
The corridors in the castle looks like. Unaccustomed to get lost - the location of the rooms and halls is quite chaotic.
Actually bar inside. Stand on the left, but remained behind the scenes. Generally, for the good it would be necessary to shoot with a tripod - then managed to capture the atmosphere, but I'm afraid I would then be left in Kemi and picked up only on the way back.
It seems the snow troll. Instead of the heart - a flaming engine.
The Holy of Holies - the shelter pigs. From the depths of the hall frowning angry Ptah.
In order to scale - the corridors inside the fortress. This, by the way, hotel. Well, anyway, it looks like a hotel. On every door - a plate with a number. Inside - bed covered with skins. The idea is that in a normal sleeping bag is quite possible to spend the night. And the rest of his life to treat frostbite kidney.
Another corridor (they were there a few). Photos of the rooms will not show, except for the bed in nothing more and no. Exceptions are suites - where the walls are decorated with carvings and more creative lighting. But still a bit crowded - not a panorama of the shoot there?
Hall of dragons. More precisely, with what was left of them.
A tropical forest with palm and Piglet.
Exit from the castle hall with ice sculptures.
Some evil in shirt and with a saw.
Runaround penguins. These I particularly liked.
In general, there is still a lot of interesting things have been - it was possible to climb the tower and explore the neighborhood, for example. It can be on a rollercoaster ride tubes.
In general, there is a paradise for children's paradise - if you go to Lapland, Santa Claus look, then be sure to look in Kemi, stroll through the snow castle.
