A routine day on a cruise ship
Hello everybody. My name is Dima (Dmytro or (accent on the "u"), I was most called on the ship. This is a post in which I want to show you one of the days spent on the cruise ship Carnival Dream as an employee of the restaurant service.
Preface: I chose this day, not by chance. Later you will learn why. The position of assistant waiter (busboy), includes a lot of responsibilities and job changes (starting from working in canteens for staff, room service (food delivery to the cabins) and finishing work on the 10th deck where there are different kinds of buffets, pizzeria , sandwich and m. p.). I worked in t. n at the end of my contract. "Bistro team". This day shows a life (work and leisure) busboy who works in the bistro team.
Depending on the day (we stand in port or at sea all day) I wake up in different ways, but usually for half an hour to work. Very hard to get up at half 6 in the morning, so long stood for almost a quarter.

On the line we are waiting for about 200 orders. Guests of the evening before hanging on door handles orders for breakfast, which indicate that they want, quantity, delivery time, your name and cabin number. Night Shift "room service" (where I once worked, too) puts the trays with napkins, they put the card with the orders, mugs, spoons, cereals, sugar, cups cream - all in accordance with the orders on the cards. We have in turn take orders and can report to the rest (yogurt, coffee, tea, bananas, bread, butter, milk and so on. D.). Cards are displayed on orders of time (typically 5: 30-10: 00).

Since the place where we take orders, is closer to the rear of the ship, I have to go through almost the entire ship, and it's not close. But I love these orders, because I can go back on the open 4th deck and relax a bit.
The order taken, I even left a tip good ($ 4). Great start to the day! (But, unfortunately, I then did not have much luck with the tip). The inscription on the card "Rise and Shine" - nedoslovno "rise and shine" in our opinion.

On the road with regular delivery, I meet an acquaintance in the Philippines (I have with it is another story love, so I decided to take a picture with him as a souvenir).

In the port a lot of people as worth 4 large ships, one of which is Oasis of the Seas - is the great liner in the world. Girls in green offer to try the coconut cocktail. Since this is my last St. Martin (well, and the port at all) on this ship, I bought myself a glass of this delicious "coconut smoothie".
We go to the beach (one of the few of our ports, where the beach is relatively close, and there are within walking distance).

It's time to back to the ship. Ahead 2 days at sea.
Of course, hungry, we immediately ran to the canteen, but alas, too late for 7 minutes. The line is empty. Time 13:37.
But we have friends working there and they gave something to eat.
Even in this day waterslides were open to all staff. I was already in front of this a few times, and did not want to miss another opportunity.
Stayed for another hour before the start of work, I decided to listen to music, but, of course, sleep. Fortunately, I was always looking for some alarm for this event.

In the evening, all of the bistro team working on the 10th floor which is called LIDO, where there is a restaurant Gathering. This is the place where collected various buffets and fast food establishments. I would like to note that all the food on the ship free (ie included in the price of the cruise), so guests eat a lot.
Most of the waiters are engaged in cleaning the tables after guests. My job is to group glasses and mugs and replenishment drinks stations. Work is not very heavy, but it is there all the time, without stopping. Often it is necessary to wash the cup itself (using the dishwasher, of course), when the dishwasher is not enough time to deal with the cups.
Here is our typical station with drinks (beverage station), which has 6. Here the device with juices (but only in the evening lemonade and iced tea), machine with ice and water, coffee machine (conventional and non-caffeinated) + hot water for tea and yet there is an apparatus for preparing hot chocolate. I need all of them to fill up and wipe.

At 21:00 I have dinner. The dining room staff have nothing (and my more recent employees removed under way), so I took a meal with LIDO (where before it worked).

Also, on our ship on Wednesdays at 10 pm held such razvlekalovka to guests as a Mexican fiesta. It is basically a mass dancing + some competition. It all takes place on the 10th deck, so I got out of the restaurant to the pool to take pictures.
Also, on Wednesdays at 11 o'clock opens Mexican buffet. It's very beautiful, though more work for waiters, well, and for everyone else, too. Indianets ice.

At 23:00 comes another change, and we have "command bistro" let go on vacation. On the way to the cabin. Someone is playing ping-pong.
