Shortly after its founding in the early 1970s, the Environmental Protection Agency US (EPA) has set up the project "Project Documerica", to examine the state of the environment and take steps to improve it. By 1974, more than 100 participating photographers of the project made more than 81 thousand photos. Photographer Ron Hoffmann (Ron Hoffman) captured the ski resorts in Aspen, Colorado, in January and February 1974.
