It looks like a paradise - at the foot of Belukha in Altai
World cinema has taken longer than one attempt to visualize paradise, one of the most beautiful and memorable to me - this is the movie "What Dreams May Come," starring Robin Williams in the lead role.
Traveling around the world, I am convinced that many places on the planet caused delight and surprise, but if I had imagined it looks like paradise, then definitely in front of me there is an image of the Altai Mountains. Yes, yes, it is not endless glossy sugary beaches and villas on the equator ... I love the mountains and the trip to the Altai was my first access to the "big" mountain.
Ever since I saw the Alps and the Andes, the Himalayas and the Tatras, they are all different and beautiful in its own way, but it was Altai I find most striking and emotionally colorful mountain range in my collection travel.
Walk to the magnificent Belukha?
very remote village in the mountains:
Local here very unfriendly (except for the fact that almost all drunk):
The route was a classic for the region - three days running to Akkem lake Akkem river on up and down the Kucherla river down.
Who does not want to go three days - flies in a helicopter
Akkem and White whale ... it was the first shot made in the Lake Valley, and let the photo was taken on the cheap, but cool at the time bar of soap, for me it is refreshing emotions of the evening when, after a three-day course with a 30-pound backpack I still see that same panorama of crystal clear lakes and the majestic slopes of the Belugas ...
Next is an absolutely amazing place - "Valley of the Seven Lakes", here we climbed during the "day's rest" on the Akkem.
Akkem and Beluga - the place is very popular among the followers of Roerich's teachings. Nicholas Roerich believed that the top one of the few places on our planet, through which the Earth receives the divine energy of the cosmos. Altayskie shamans specify that Shambhala is sacred Beluha inside, but in another spatial dimension. And it can only be seen in a modified state of consciousness, but it is not given to everyone.
"Museum on the other side":
Belukha - highest point Mountain Altai (4506 m), crowning Katunsky ridge.
In India, far to the south of Asia, but know that in the north, in the hill country of the Altai, on the right bank of the Katun, high in the sky many-headed mountain climbs, the value of which is equal to the world mountain Sumeru. The Indian Vedas, the sacred spell that Beluga is designed to determine the "center of the four oceans", as it is almost equidistant from the three oceans - the Arctic, Pacific and Indian, for which he is called in ancient writings, "the umbilical cord of the Earth."
Belugas have a few names in every nation - his own. One of the names that she gave themselves Altai - Tsagaan-Ubugunov - "White Old Man." Gray-haired head, "Old Man", in their opinion, has reached the summit of the world that is located near the Big Dipper.
In 1926, Roerich made an expedition to the Altai Mountains to the magnificent Belukha. Golden Mount (according to one hypothesis, the word "Altai" comes from the Turkic "Altai", "hit the jackpot" - "gold") interested in Roerich as the most northern point of the mountain world of Central Asia, as one of the main corridors by which ancient peoples moved from Asian center in the plains of Siberia and further to Europe. As a place of interest for its ancient culture and philosophy. Not far from the Beluga whales in the valley Uimon Nicholas Roerich found dozens of ancient, unknown to science, monuments, burial constructions Altai. In his diaries, the traveler, for example, mentions kereksurah (gravestones hills pour out large stones), "stellh nameless people", "deer stones" (mysterious slabs covered with images of deer with abandoned behind horns and ornately twisted appendages) "stone figures" (sculptures "women", called Kaeser and allows to present the cut of clothes detail ancient).
On the stone graves of the local population are associated legends of bygone tribes here. For example, a tribe with high culture, great knowledge and marvelous name - Chud. According to the stories, the tribe was in mortal danger, and it was forced to withdraw through their secret underground passages in an unknown direction. There is a version that local ancient burial mounds with stone rubble and have sealed entrance to the mysterious underground Tschudi. Roerich immediately remembered the prevalence in India and Tibet, the legend of the underground city Agartha people.
According to one legend Beluga - the birthplace of the Buddha, from here he went to India and Tibet.

Extreme sports or recreation in the campaigns?
Of course, I love when the adrenaline tickling, I like extreme. But traveling I chose a tourism and hiking without the extreme. Climbing, kayaking and other extreme - it's not mine. Life is beautiful, and it should be enjoyed, not to expose it to unnecessary risk and psevdokontroliruemomu. It's my opinion.
A helicopter evacuates MOE group of Belarusian mountaineers who fell asleep at the final stage before climbing:
And we went down:
On the way to Moscow, met on the train of European tourists who came to Asia from London and then go back on a train journey by a transit point. Even have a guide:
